Veterinarian
Dr. Carleen Foot grew up in Dundas, ON and from an early age developed a magnetism towards animals – in fact, she still has the trophy she earned from her grade 1 teacher for demonstrating outstanding animal care!
She graduated from Guelph University with a Bachelor of Science followed by completing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, with distinction (above 80% average) at the Ontario Veterinary College. She was honoured with the OVMA animal welfare and behaviour award in 2002 and the feline medicine and surgery prize in 2004. She is a small animal veterinarian here at Markdale Veterinary Services and has special interest in internal medicine and diagnostic imaging including ultrasound and endoscopy.
Carleen has also been an avid equestrian from a young age and now lives on a hobby farm in Meaford with her husband, 2 children, and several horses, donkeys, pet sheep, dogs, and a rabbit.
